A quiet breakfast, a sketchbook, and a moment that turned into a memory. I was in Florida for a painting tournament and I had an extra day so I spent it at Disney drawing and making watercolors.

This original 6x6 inch watercolor was painted on location inside Disney's Contemporary Resort, during breakfast at Steakhouse 71. During the meal, I opened my sketchbook and began capturing the space with its warm wood ceilings, soft blue upholstery, and the easy rhythm of people starting their day.

As I painted, a couple seated nearby became part of the scene. When I showed them the finished sketch, they lit up that I captured them in the scene. Soon after, members of the restaurant staff stopped by to take a look, turning my breakfast into a shared experience of curiosity, art conversations and connection.

The piece combines loose ink lines with layered watercolor washes, giving it that spontaneous, lived-in feel of being there in real time. I tried to capture the atmosphere of Steakhouse 71 and the vibes of the Contemporary resort. After many trips to Disney, these quiet moments are the ones that I treasure.

Perfect for:

Disney park fans who love the resort experience as much as the rides
Foodies who appreciate iconic Disney dining spots
Collectors of original, on-location artwork
Anyone who cherishes those slower, in-between Disney moments
