First Painting in the 100 Paintings in 100 Days Series

Price: $99

Every painting series begins with a single brushstroke.

Heirloom Tomato No. 1 is the inaugural work in my new project, 100 Paintings in 100 Days. A creative challenge dedicated to daily observation, consistent practice, and the pursuit of finding beauty in everyday subjects.

This painting features a vibrant heirloom tomato illuminated by soft light against a luminous lavender background. My wife purchased it from our local farmer's market. Rich reds, subtle pinks, and expressive brushwork celebrate the character and individuality of this humble garden favorite. Painted from direct observation, the piece captures both the freshness of the subject and the immediacy of the painting process.

The 100 Paintings in 100 Days project is an exploration of seeing more deeply and painting more honestly. As the first painting in the series, this piece marks the beginning of that journey and holds a special place within the collection.

Whether displayed in a kitchen, dining room, studio, or gallery wall, Heirloom Tomato No. 1 brings a cheerful pop of color and a sense of simple abundance to any space.

About the Series

The goal of 100 Paintings in 100 Days is simple: create one painting every day for one hundred consecutive days. Through this discipline, ordinary subjects become extraordinary opportunities to study light, color, shape, and design. Each painting is a record of a single day's observation and creative exploration.
